My Chinese Traits
Being a Chinese girl born in Malaysia.. there were times I got a tad confused. I was never quite Chinese enough by some people’s standards… I went to a Malay school and knew English better than Chinese dialects. Sure, I loved eating Chinese food and enjoyed the festivals and festivities on special days. However, I was not very good in the languages and I also have little knowledge about my ancestry due to being too afraid to ask about the past in case it brought hurt to my grandmother and in case it was taboo to ask.
As a grown up, I am drawn to the colours and various aspect of my ancestry.
